I am honoured to host the Don Featherstone weekend, a tribute to one of the hobbies iconic figures.

The full weekend will run from 4pm on the Friday, with player briefings and initial dispositions, with the game (The relief of Arnhem, since WWII was one of Don’s favourite periods) starting on Friday morning and concluding on Sunday afternoon, at which point a trophy will be presented before farewells and departure. Part of the Trophy award will be the engraving of the winners name on a Crystal Vase, in addition the winner will then take home a vignette specially designed and prepared for the occasion. Each year there will be a different vignette from guest designers.

Another important aspect to the weekend is that we have organised a jacket and tie dinner at the Basingstoke Hilton for the Saturday night, where it is hoped that guests will exchange Don Featherstone anecdotes there will be a guest speaker after the meal.

The emphasis of the whole weekend is intended to be light-hearted fun. So who will join us for this second annual event?

The weekend game is £150.00 including a £25.00 donation to the Charity Combat Stress.

Three-course dinner at the Basingstoke Hilton £25, drinks to be paid for individually.

A real pyrrhic victory, can you repeat the success of the Anglo-German and Dutch force against the French, take the Redans and drive them before you, or will you raise the hat of Boufflers and lead the counter charge of the Maison du Roi….This is a real tough battle for the allies and the French are significantly outnumbered, so take your pick and change the course of the battle! All using the Black Powder rules.

All you need to do is turn up on the day, no set up of terrain or tables, choose a side! Then start playing, I provide all the paraphernalia, dice rulers etc.

Lunch is included as is the Tea and coffee. All you need to do is turn up and at the end of the game, just say goodbye! I clear up!

Re-fight the Battle of Gaines Mill, using our own adaptation of Fire and Fury, these include Regimental and Brigade rulesets to allow command and weapon variants.

Here is a great chance to pit the Russian hordes against the dogged defence of the Third Reich. A whole day playing out late war Russians against some of the better German armour and anti-tank capability. Using Rapid Fire rules.

All you need to do is turn up and choose a side, no setup of terrain or tables, no baggage, I will provide everything! Once you have finished you just go home, or to the Pub!
I’ll do everything else, lunch is included!
