The most important engagement during the time of the Fifth Coalition, take the Grande Armee and their German and Italian allies , decide on the best strategy to defeat Archduke Charles Austrian army and bring the war to an end. One of the largest battles for the Austrians during the Napoleonic war, the attempted double envelopment nearly succeeding, until the French re-deployed. The amassed Grand Battery finally driving the Archdukes army into retreat. Will you succeed where the Archduke failed, change the deployment, re-invent the strategy and march to victory.
Or will you smash the Austrian army once and for all as one of the Marshals of France, Oudinot, Bernadotte, Soult, Davout or Massena to name a few!
Here is the second opportunity to take part in a firm favourite, defend the “Gross Garten” outside the city, or storm the Landsbach with the allied divisions! The supply depot must be taken!
Can you repeat the victory of the Duke of Marlborough over the Franco-Bavarian forces at Ramillies. In less than four hours, Villeroi’s army was utterly defeated. Marlborough’s subtle moves and changes in emphasis during the battle (something the French and Bavarian commanders failed to realise until it was too late) caught his foe in a tactical vice. Can you emulate the tactics of Marlborough, or escape the vice as one of Villerois divisional commanders?
