Hi Guys,

Here at the Wargames Holiday Centre we are running our first Warhammer 40K Doubles Tournament on Saturday the 26th October 2013, from 08.00 til late. I have enlisted the help of Nick Jenkin, Mark Waple and a few of the other tournament refs and veterans to assist, so the event should be great fun and hopefully the first of many.

This will be slightly different to the normal tournies given that each of the tables will be 6′ x 6′. This opens the game up to a whole new range of possibilities, we have play tested the scenarios and are very pleased with the results, the tournament is a doubles with 16 team places. There’s all the usual aspects of the tournaments, food, drink, parking etc.

Send me a message here or contact me on info@wargameshc.co.uk for details.

This sees the Battle of Mockern and the neighbouring areas. The Russo Prussian forces under Blucher and the Army of the North take on the French Armee Corps with the opportunity of reserves coming out of the City. Can the French hold out against the aggressive attacks of the Allied commanders.

In late August 1813, Napoleon decided to order a general offensive to take Berlin, the Prussian capital, with the overall goal of knocking the Prussians out of the war. Marshal Oudinot’s corps advanced towards this objective along three separate roads. The fighting that took place on 23 August was essentially three isolated actions at Blankenfield, Grossbeeren, and Sputendorf. In each case the Allies prevailed and Oudinot retreated to Wittenberg. At this point Napoleon appointed Marshal Michel Ney to command.

Here is another 1813 – 2013 anniversary battle. A real hum dinger of an encounter Battle with Marshal Ney squaring up to Crown Prince Charles of Sweden (Marshal Bernadotte). Can you smash your way through or hang on as the Allies.

Here is a great opportunity to change or repeat the course of American history, the last time we played this at the Wargames Holiday Centre there was a resounding Confederate Victory.

So come one, come all to this most glorious of ACW battles, will you lead Hoods boys up and over the roundtop or will you play it out as George Meade and hold the Confederates off!

This year I am offering an introductory offer for those wishing to enter into one of our Campaign Weeks. This year it will be the Campaign of 1814, the Fall of France is imminent, will you as a Marshal of France succeed in helping bring the Allies to the negotiation table, or as the Allies will you deliver the death blow to Napoleon.

It will all be there! March forward with the Prussians led by Blucher, or drive to the very heart of France with the Austrian or Russian Empire.

You will arrive on the Sunday afternoon (17th), meet the other players, decide which side you would like to play on and away you go right up until Friday afternoon, then depart the hotel on the Saturday morning (23rd), after your last evening meal and beer with your fellow generals.

This introductory week will be at the bargain price of £250.00 (excluding accommodation, Beer and other flights of fancy!)

Please contact me for further details.

A fictitious battle set during the 1813 Campaign just after the Armisitice, following a bold move by the Armee of Bohemia the French have to hold the Spremberg area North of the river Spree until help arrives. Defend with some of the best troops the French have against the might of the Allied forces, mostly Austrian, Russian and a smattering of Prussian. This is one of the best encounter battles played at the Wargames Holiday Centre.

In addition the commanders get to choose 5 of the 8 formations available to turn up at the battle. They have different strength and quality and can arrive at different times. This all lends a feel of a campaign battle to the proceedings, an excellent game!
