On 26–27 August 1813 Napoleon faced the combined might of Austria, Russia and Prussia in a titanic battle for the capital of Saxony. The fortified city of Dresden was a key supply depot, this was a battle Napoleon could not afford to lose.

This is the Battle encompassing the southern sector of the Leipzig Battlefield, it sees the Army of Bohemia engaging the French Corps deployed in the Southern Sector with reinforcements possibly coming from the city. Encompassing the villages of Wachau amd Markleeberg this occupies the entire southern face of the battlefield.
